Buenos Aires Beach

Buenos Aires Beach

Is there a beach in Buenos Aires? We didn’t know that! Let’s see what the options are to replace such a beautiful place as a beach, which in city Buenos Aires, sadly, doesn’t exist. Once upon a time people could go to the coast of the Rio de la Plata and get into the water but … that was a long time ago. But don’t despair! There are places outside the City of Buenos Aires, where you can go to a beach. You just need to take a bus or a train. The approximate distance is 400 kilometers. The train or bus trip lasts between 4 and 6 hours.

If you want to visit more places during the summer in Buenos Aires, you can read our post about it. The Atlantic coast has more than 40 beach cities (so many in province of Buenos aires). You have a lot to choose from! Different types of water, different types of sand, many waves, few waves, more people, less people.

Mar del Plata is the largest beach city in Argentina. In fact, it is one of the largest cities in Argentina. You can find beaches with many people, intimate beaches, nudist beaches, beaches for practicing sports, beaches where musical concerts are held every year, and more and more and more.

In addition, the city offers many things: museums, bars, clubs, parks, gardens, many shops, many restaurants, and more and more. (It´s a good place to learn Spanish and practice what did you learn in your Spanish lessons

Pehuen Có beach offers a Geological, Palenteological and Archaeological Reserve if you want to see a different place. Here you will find traces of glyptodon, mastodon and saber tooth tigers. Pinamar, Cariló, Valeria del Mar, and Ostende are surrounded by forests. These cities are quieter, with Pinamar being the most populous (and also the poshest: there are fashion shows, luxury cars, large houses, and exclusive clothing brands abound.

If you want something more wild, the best option are the coastal towns that are further south of Buenos Aires . Especially if you like camping. Spas of Reta, Orense, Oriente are very small towns, with wide beaches and very little crowded. Their name is “The hidden beach”.

The entire coast is exceptional to enjoy the fresh catch of the day! Hake, black hake, grouper, bream, Corvina, sole, pollock, Gattuso, brótola, shrimp and pejerrey are the most popular fish in Argentina. This is a good excuse to visit Buenos Aires beachs. The most recommended beach in province of Buenos Aires for surfing is Mar del Plata. But, curiously, the best season to do this sport may not be, precisely, summer.

The best waves, they say, are in the winter. Necochea is also a good option. . They are not cut abruptly. In that area, there are several new little crowded beaches where you can surf almost alone.

In conclusion, City of Buenos Aires does not have a beach. It only has some spaces that simulate being a beach and that are mostly for families to enjoy, because they organize water games and playful activities for children. But beach, what is called beach, there is not. So, come to Buenos Aires, enjoy its streets, its cement, its theaters, its pizza and then take the train, the bus, rent a car and go to the many beaches that the coast of the province of Buenos Aires offers.
